The Naming of the Young Alumni Achievement Award
Nov 6, 2019The HSMP Alumni Society is pleased to name the Young Alumni Achievement award after Ned Zechman ’74. This award is presented to an individual 40 years or younger who has achieved significant early career growth in the field of healthcare.
When Ned became the CEO of the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans at 29 years of age, he was the youngest – and first—program alum to become a CEO. Ned went on to an illustrious career in Children’s Hospital leadership through his roles as CEO and President of the Children’s Hospital of Alabama, the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and he Children’s National Medical Center where he ended his career.
Ned more broadly, served as Chairman of Board of National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Chair of District of Columbia Hospital Association. He is a strong supporter of the University and MHA program and was a lead donor to the Loebs and Cleverley Scholarships.
